CHARLES & RAY EAMES: Iconic American Designers

I first learned about Charles & Ray Eames in an Interior Design course I took as an undergraduate student (some 10 years ago), but even now, I still appreciate and find inspiration through their early modern designs.

Here’s a little info on the design duo:
Charles Ormond Eames, Jr. (1907–1978) and Bernice Alexandra “Ray” Eames (1912–1988) pronounced /’iːmz/) were American designers, who worked in and made major contributions to modern architecture and furniture. They also worked in the fields of industrial and graphic design, fine art, and film

The husband and wife team behind the renowned Eames chairs began their practice with the goal of making beautiful, well-designed, mass-produced modern objects for everyman.

Although most consumers are accustomed to buying objects for the sake of owning a particular style or brand, high on most design aficionados list of contemporary must-have designs would be an Eames chair.

…I would definitely love to own an Eames chair someday, how about you?…In the meantime, let’s salute Charles & “Ray” Eames for their fabulous early modern designs!

Enjoy your day!
